The Alumni Association of New Mexico State University announced the seven recipients of its biannual Outstanding Graduate Award, representing each college of the university plus one recipient from university-wide master’s and doctoral programs.
These Outstanding Graduate Award winners exemplify the best and brightest of the class of 2023 fall semester:
- Marisa Trujillo, College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences
- Marco Antonio Martinez, College of Arts and Sciences
- Tavyn Miranda Trujillo, College of Business
- Emilia Isabel Mandujano Aguilar, College of Engineering
- Tylerann Lynn Thomas, College of Health, Education and Social Transformation
- Samantha Valencia, Graduate School, College of Arts and Sciences, Master’s
- Gaurav Panwar, Graduate School, College of Arts and Sciences, Ph.D.
Deans and nomination committees select honorees based on their outstanding academic accomplishments, notable leadership abilities and extracurricular commitments. Each award recipient will be acknowledged during the NMSU fall 2023 Commencement ceremony.
“Every one of these students is not only academically accomplished but also possesses qualities that go well beyond the classroom,” said Sylvia Y. Acosta, NMSU Foundation CEO. “They demonstrate leadership, community engagement, creativity, and a passion for positive change. We applaud these Aggies as they seek to fulfill their dreams and make an impact in the world.”
The NMSU Alumni Association’s Outstanding Graduate Award is a respected and enduring tradition at the university and a significant distinction for its recipients. This semester’s winners will be recognized at the Outstanding Graduates Luncheon Friday, Dec. 8, on the NMSU Foundation website at www.nmsualumni.org and on the @NMSUAlumFriends social media pages.
